Dr. Seneca is Chairman of the New Jersey Council of Economic Advisors. The Council prepares semiannual economic outlooks and advises the Governor and Legislature on economic policy and economic development. He has taught at all levels of instruction throughout his career at Rutgers and has received numerous awards for exemplary teaching and contributions to public service. Dr. Seneca is the author of numerous articles, reports and books on economic policy, public finance, environmental economics and state economic development. He was named the 2002 Educator of the Year by the Research and Development Council of New Jersey.





Steven M. Goldman
Commissioner, New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance

Mr. Goldman was sworn in as Commissioner on March 20, 2006. Prior to his nomination by Governor Corzine, he was a senior member and 22-year veteran of Sills Cummis Epstein & Gross, PC where he focused on corporate law, specifically on mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance, joint ventures, and leveraged buy-outs. Mr. Goldman holds a Masters of Law in taxation from NYU School of Law and a Jurist Doctorate from George Washington School of Law.

Duke Fanelli

While Vice President for Local Development at AXA Equitable, Duke was responsible for multicultural marketing, corporate sponsorship activity and local support for AXA Equitable's 60+ branches throughout the country. Prior to joining AXA Equitable in 1998, Duke held a variety of positions over a 15-year period at JP Morgan Chase, supporting both the business and marketing aspects of the bank's retail business. He holds a BA in Journalism from American University and worked as a journalist with Advertising Age. He is co-author of The Financial Services Marketing Handbook: Tactics and Techniques that Produce Results, published by Bloomberg Press, and teaches a financial services marketing course at NYU.



Rich Palatini

A B.F.A. degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University Design School opened the door, but it was his own combination of verbal expression and unerring design that propelled Rich to his current position of executive creative director for the agency. In addition to spearheading new business development and overseeing the Creative Department, Rich serves as art director on Benjamin Moore, Skanska, Atlantic Health Systems and other accounts. He is a featured speaker on the seminar circuit and is an adjunct professor at Kean University.

A veteran of such agencies as McCaffrey & McCall; Young & Rubicam; and Saatchi and Saatchi, Martha has written for blue chip clients such as AT&T, Chevrolet, Xerox, Revlon, Panasonic and Benjamin Moore. She has helped launch new products, revitalized old ones, and created strong, lasting brand identities. Her efforts extend to all mediums, from television, video, print and radio, to direct mail, point of sale and presentation materials.As one of the agency's most senior creatives, Martha has been responsible for strategic and creative development on a number of accounts, and is extremely involved in new business development.

Mr. Bracken began his banking career with New Jersey National Bank in 1969. He was named Executive Vice President and Head of Commercial Banking in 1975, and retained that position through CoreStates' acquisition of New Jersey National Bank. In 1993, Mr. Bracken was named President of CoreStates/New Jersey National Bank and in 1998, following the CoreStates merger with First Union Bank, he was appointed Executive Vice President and Head of Commercial and Government Banking for New Jersey, New York and Connecticut. In May of 2000, Mr. Bracken was named Executive Director of First Union's Public Sector Group. Tom currently is the Chairman of the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce.

Mrs. Akey has served as the Chief Examiner of the Division of Banking since October 1989. As Chief Examiner, Mrs. Akey is responsible for the examination and supervision program for all State chartered commercial banks, savings banks, savings and loan associations, trust companies and holding companies for the State chartered institutions. Mrs. Akey has also served as the Secretary to the Bank Advisory Board since 1994.

During her tenure as President, AACF has grown from $300,000 in assets to over $40 million. Earlier in her career, Nancy worked as a corporate lending officer in the Communications, Entertainment & Publishing Division of the Bank of New York; and as Regional Director of Admissions for Princeton University. She is currently the Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Council of New Jersey Grantmakers, and a Trustee of the Princeton Regional Chamber of Commerce.
